I'm Still Standing! Sir Elton John is recovering well at home after appendix removal... as he prepares to return to stage next month,

Sir Elton John has had his appendix removed and is recovering well at home, his publicist confirmed on Saturday.
The star was forced to pull out of a series of shows after being diagnosed with appendicitis last month, however he has vowed to return to the stage next month. 
He underwent the operation at Monaco's Princess Grace Hospital on Thursday and is understood to be recuperating at his home in Nice, France.

According to The Mirror the father-of-two, who stayed overnight at the hospital, told friends: ‘I feel great.’

 

The newspaper reports that a source close to him said: ‘Elton is back in Nice playing with the boys now. He is a lot better and very positive after the operation.
‘He still has to rest up but is determined to get back on the road next month and can’t wait to see his fans who have sent thousands of get well soon messages.’

The star is set to make his first public appearance since undergoing surgery when he receives his BRITs Icon Award on September 2. 
He will then open the First Direct Arena in Leeds two days later on September 4. 
Last month the veteran musician said he felt ‘grateful to be alive’, revealing that he could have died at any time while struggling through his European tour unaware he was suffering from the condition.
Sir Elton, 66, told The Sun: ‘I was a ticking time bomb. I guess I could have died at any time.
‘I feel so lucky and grateful to be alive.’

The chart star said he performed 10 concerts in pain, which he had thought was due to food poisoning, but was finally forced to walk off stage during a concert in Halle, Germany, on July 5.

Doctors advised him to cancel all the dates on his current tour, including a headline performance at London's Hyde Park last month.
A statement on behalf of the singer said he had been diagnosed with an ‘appendix abscess surrounding retrocaecal appendicitis’.
He is expected to be well enough to attend an event in central London on September 2 at which he will perform and welcome a number of guests.
The Rocket Man and Your Song star is to be the first to be handed the Brits Icon Award.
In a message on his official website, Sir Elton thanked his fans for the support they had shown.
‘I would like to thank the literally thousands of people who have sent me get well cards and messages over the past two weeks,’ he wrote. ‘Your well wishes have touched me deeply and will play a big part in my recovery.
‘I cannot wait to see you all and thank you in person when I resume my concert schedule later this year. In the meantime, please know that I consider myself a very blessed man to have such caring and considerate fans.’
It is the latest health scare for the singer, who last year cancelled a number of shows as a result of a respiratory infection which struck him during a series of US dates. He also missed concerts due to a bout of food poisoning.
In 1999 he had a pacemaker fitted after doctors found he had an irregular heartbeat.
Sir Elton has recently been promoting his forthcoming album The Diving Board, which is due to be released on September 16.
It is his first studio recording of new solo material since his 2006 album The Captain & The Kid. His most recent album was his 2010 collaboration with Leon Russell, called The Union.

And it seems that David's other half Victoria is also on baord with her husband breaking into the film industry, telling Glamour: 'Sure, why not... I've been in Spice World and that was a great performance.'

There has been a lot of talk surrounding the sex scenes between Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen in The Canyons.
So it comes as no surprise that the Paul Schrader film features a lot of nudity – in particular from the 27-year-old actress.
And as the film was released in the US on Friday it didn’t take long for grabs of the topless star to find their way online.

Writing about the incident Stephen Rodrick, recalled: 'Lohan dropped her robe. Schrader shouted action, and they filmed the scene in one 14-minute take. About halfway through, Lohan looked directly into the camera and flashed a dirty, demented smile at Schrader.’

Speaking about working with Lindsay on the film, writer Brett recently said: ‘I have no idea what Lindsay’s leaning toward. All I know is she’s very street smart. She’s a very mixed up 20-something, but very knowledgeable about film and composition and lighting and hitting your mark.
‘When she did our first table read, she blew me away. She was late, she was a little scattered, we had nervous small talk, and then she turned it on immediately.’

The Canyons was released on August 2 at the IFC Center in New York City, the Bell Lightbox in Toronto, and on video on demand platforms. It is yet to be released in the UK

He spoke out as Lauren, 36, and husband Andrew, 37, continued their crisis talks at their $4 million home in Bridgehampton, New York, over her infidelity.
The couple are said to be hardly talking but are staying in the same house to try to keep things normal for their seven-year-old son Adam, who has been staying there while attending a nearby summer camp.
Lauren meanwhile is 10 weeks pregnant with Cowell’s child, after having an affair which may have been going on for more than a year.
Mr Eisenberg, a real estate mogul who lives in Miami, said that Andrew’s long hours and frequent trips away from the family’s New York-based Andalex Group property company may have left Lauren feeling like a bored housewife.

‘She is certainly not a gold digger. That's ridiculous. She is very talented and had her own career in fashion and Andrew was very successful in real estate. She doesn't need Simon's money.’
Carole married Mr Eisenberg in 1989 having met him at the Cricket Club, a country club in Miami.
He was working out a lot and Carole ‘spotted’ him and, though he was with someone at the time, they got together because the ‘timing’ felt right.
