WAS PRESSURE ON STAR JACKO...KING OF POP?

Michael Jackson
Tragic ... Michael Jackson

Pressure 'too much' for Michael Jackson

MICHAEL Jackson was “sick” and “being pressured” as he prepared for his 50-date comeback tour, his mum told a court.

Tearful Katherine Jackson, 83, alleged promoter AEG Live LLC failed to give him proper medical attention in his last days.
The Thriller singer had turned up for rehearsals incoherent and psychologically troubled, an LA court has been told.
He died aged 50 after personal physician Conrad Murray gave him an overdose of an anesthetic ropofol in 2009. Murray was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
Mrs Jackson said: “My son was being pressured. He asked for his father.
“My son was sick. Nobody said, ‘Call the doctor. What’s wrong with him?’”
When defence lawyer Marvin Putnam said he did have a doctor, Jacko’s mum said: “My son needed another doctor, an outside doctor, not Dr Murray.”
Mrs Jackson’s testimony also included an account of her family’s humble beginnings in a four-room house in Gary, Indiana. She described Michael as a musically inclined baby who wanted to dance with his brothers.
Under cross-examination from AEG lawyer Mr Putnam, she grew frustrated and confused and asked to stop shortly after a lunch break. She returns to the stand tomorrow.
Mrs Jackson’s lawyer Brian Panish said later that his client had slept only three hours and accused the defence team of trying to mock her.
“If they want to continue to attack her, bring it on,” Mr Panish told reporters.
She and Jacko’s children — Prince, 16, Paris, 15, and Blanket, 11 — are suing AEG in a wrongful death lawsuit.
The action alleges that AEG hired Murray as the singer’s doctor.
AEG denies hiring Murray and says it could not have foreseen he posed a danger
The case continues.
