Selena Gomez sticks her tongue out Cyrus style as she steals the limelight from co-star Ethan Hawke at Getaway premiere

She has recently spoken of her desire to be taken more seriously as an actress now she has turned 21.
But it seems Selena Gomez still has a little growing up to do judging by her Miley Cyrus imitation at the premiere of her latest movie Getaway.
The former Disney starlet couldn't help sticking her tongue out on the red carpet - just like the Hannah Montana actress did at the MTV awards the night before.

Selena was appearing at the Regency Theater in the LA neighbourhood of Westwood for the premiere of her latest movie 'Getaway' when she pulled the cheeky face at the crowds who had gathered.
But she still wowed fans by wearing a structured floral mini dress with daring lace front panel.
Four inch stilettos showed off her legs to great effect and her long dark hair was tied back to emphasise her pretty face.

The new movie is her first real foray into adult acting after years starring in children's productions.
The Wizards of Waverly Place star plays a character known only as The Kid opposite Ethan Hawke who portrays a former racing car driver in a desperate search for his kidnapped wife.
Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight, plays the mysterious kidnapper in the Courtney Solomon directed feature.

For Selena, there is a lot riding on the success of the film and in particular her performance which she hopes will lead the way for more serious roles.
Speaking to the New York Daily News at the weekend she said it was time to leave her childstar past behind.
'I feel like I’ve been playing the same character over and over again,' she tells the newspaper.
'I mean I’m super proud of (Wizards) ... I just want to do things that really push me.'

She took full advantage of the experience of her cast members, particularly Ethan, adding:  'I have notes and notes of things that (Ethan would) say.
'I wrote everything down, from what he thinks his character would do, and even what he thinks I would do.
'He would always ask me about what I was thinking and make me dig a little deeper. It was like acting class.'

It looks as if she has left behind her on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber too - another clue she is maturing.
There was certainly no sign of the Canadian singer at the premiere.
She told the Daily News she had had enough of bad boys.
'I understand [the attraction], but I don’t suggest it,' she said.
'A nerdy guy that wears the same flannel every day, I think that’s really cute. That’s attractive to me, that kind of vibe.'

And it seems Selina impressed the most important person on set her director, Courtney Solomon.
He told artistdirect.com that she coped well with the role
'It's not too far of a stretch for her,' he said.
'But it's a very nice transition from the parts she was doing to turning into a woman.'
