Jennifer Hudson looks like a Nineties fashion nightmare in thigh-baring dress and chunky boots

She famously lost over 80lbs in the last two years and has taken advantage of her incredible weight loss to enjoy the new fashion opportunities that her new slim-line figure opened her up to.
And there is no doubt that Jennifer Hudson can look fabulous as has been evidenced by many photographs of her both at formal events and off-duty.
However in New York on Thursday the Dreamgirls star wore a peculiar mismatched outfit that seemed to confuse her as much as it did onlookers.

The actress wore a tight dark grey long velvet dress with spaghetti straps which had an interesting 1990s style tie-dye effect across it.
The dress certainly showcased the 31-year-old's fabulous figure and even had a daring split on one side which started from just below her bottom and showed off her legs.
Jennifer made an unusual choice of footwear to pair the dress with, opting for chunky black Doc Marten style army boots with the laces undone.
She accessorised with a large white leather handbag with silver stud detail and a white leather baseball cap which matched the bag with its silver stud detail but also had rather vicious looking silver spikes all over the top.
The combination of clothing and accessories from different genres and eras of fashion made for a rather eclectic look.
The Oscar winning actress wore her long hair in loose curls hanging down her back away from her face and showing off a relatively make-up free visage apart from a splash of plum lipstick.

Perhaps her tiredness and her unusual choice of outfit are expected considering the busy promotional tour she has been on to promote her new film Winnie Mandela where she plays the part of the controversial ex-wife of Nelson Mandela.
