The accident happened on Friday afternoon in Pennsylvania after the driver of another smaller semi-truck struck the cab of the golden big-wheeler.
According to TMZ the drunk driver was arrested following the incident that happened around 5pm inside a Walmart parking lot.
Struck: Katy Perry's gold promotional truck for Prism was hit by a drunk driver in Pennsylvania on Friday
As it normally looks: The truck has been used as a method of promoting Katy's upcoming album
Fortunately, nobody was injured in the accident as the driver of the promotional truck was actually inside the Walmart at the time of the crash.
Police say the driver of the other truck initially fled the scene after striking the front cabin of Katy's truck - but quickly returned to the parking lot after realizing it was the best decision.
The Firework star has been using the truck to promote her forthcoming fourth studio album - she plastered 'Katy Perry – Prism – 10-22-13' on the side of the big rig which has been touring around the country.
Near miss: Nobody was injured in the accident, but the truck was badly damaged
'Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I’ll RT you,' she promised on Twitter
'Don’t worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map.'
The 28-year-old performer - who is worth an estimated $75 million - will be hoping that this is not a bad omen for her new album.
Her 2010 release Teenage Dream was the first album since Michael Jackson's Bad to generate five number one singles from the same record on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Busy: Katy has also been promoting the Smurfs 2
recently - here she appeared at the premiere in Westwood in California
at the end of July
Due soon: Katy's fourth album Prism will be released on October 22
