He’s not clowning around nor is it a marketing gimmick as has been claimed in some quarters, DJ Khaled definitely wants Nicki Minaj for keeps and he’s not in the least bit shy about making this known.
The 37-year old rapper had posted a specially recorded video message on MTV news last Thursday in which he declared his love for her and proposed with a $500,000 ring. At the time it seemed too far-fetched to be true but it appears the DJ/Record producer was dead serious as he confirmed to US tabloid Us Weekly at a screening of Magic City for friend, rapper Rick Ross in New York that he does indeed want to marry the vivacious rapper.
In his words:
“I want to marry her! I was serious, she can take her time and think about it. At least she knows how I feel now”
Meanwhile Nicki Minaj has been spotted rocking a huge diamond ring on her engagement finger just two days after the proposal. Nicki was spotted with the telling ring on her finger as she exited a restaurant in Beverly Hills. While she hasn’t officially released a statement on the proposal, Nicki’s latest choice of jewelry suggests that she may have accepted the proposal – or could it just be one big coincidence?
With DJ Khaled’s album Suffering from Success due out in September, industry watchers believe the whole thing could be one big marketing ploy.
