Lovelorn Lewis's beachside bid to woo back estranged girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger

Lewis Hamilton has gone to extraordinary lengths to try to win back his estranged girlfriend – former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.
The Formula 1 superstar flew to Santa Monica in California by private jet to woo Nicole by renting out a picturesque beach house, clearing out all of the furniture from the idyllic terrace except for a table for two.
He then covered the floor with candles, flowers and even a sand sculpture to create the perfect setting for them to try to patch things up.

A source close to Lewis added: ‘They have met up and have been staying in regular contact, but they haven’t got back together just yet.
The couple, pictured left in 2011, ended their relationship last month after five years together, saying they struggled to find the time to see each other with their hectic work schedules.
But Lewis, 28, has made no secret of the  fact that he misses his former lover, 35, who  is now filming a new series of The X Factor after returning to the judging panel for the  TV show.

He dedicated his Hungarian Grand Prix  win last month to her in a cryptic admission, saying: ‘It feels a little bit odd without that someone here, but I would say now that this is one of those races you want to dedicate to that someone.’

Actress Lady Clara Paget survived a brush with death as she filmed Black Sails, a TV prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island.

The Marquess of Anglesey’s stunning daughter, right, was rushed off set to have her appendix removed. ‘It was absolutely terrifying. I was really ill and suddenly I was being rushed off to hospital,’ Clara, 24, told  me at a Warner Music party.

‘They cut into all my great core muscles – it was agony. I was supposed to be back shooting  a few days afterwards and I just had to say, “I’m sorry, this is not going to happen.” ’

Clara has now recovered and spent last week partying in Ibiza with her handsome boyfriend Oscar Tuttiett.
